Why do I have to pay $220 a month for car insurance in Texas?

My full-coverage insurance on a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder costs $220 each month. I'm 42, and I have one at-fault accident (no injuries) and one ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign on my record, which I don't think is that bad. Why am I paying so much?

“Having one at-fault accident and one ticket may not seem that bad to you, but they’ve clearly had a significant impact on your
car insurance
rate.
In your state, the average rate increase after an at-fault accident is over 40%. Getting a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign doesn’t increase your premium nearly as much as an accident, but it still has an impact.
Also, the fact that you’re driving a 2020 model may be contributing to your high rate. Newer vehicles cost more to repair or replace, and this may be reflected in your premium.
If you want cheaper car insurance, you should shop around and compare quotes from multiple insurers.
