Why did my Allstate auto premium increase for no apparent reason?

I have basically been paying the same rate with Allstate for the past few years. With this recent renewal, my policy premium doubled! I haven't had any tickets or accidents. Why would this happen?

“It can be really disappointing when the rate of your policy changes and you aren’t given an explanation. First, give
Allstate
a call; they should be able to give you an explanation of why your rate changed.
Allstate uses annual mileage as a rating factor. Have you updated the mileage with them recently? If you have been driving more, that could be the reason for the increase.
Another consideration is that if your driving hasn’t changed, then the driving habits of others may be behind the rate hike. If there has been an increase in traffic and claims where you live, Allstate might be rating your zip code differently.
