Who owns Mercury?

I've seen several Mercury vehicles driving around the road lately, and I didn't think they were still in production anymore. Who owns Mercury?

You’re right!
Mercury
vehicles are no longer in production. Although defunct, Ford Motor Company owns Mercury.
Mercury was created in 1938 by Edsel Ford and served as the mid-range brand of Ford for almost its entire existence; they weren’t as cheap as a Ford, but not as pricey as a Lincoln.
From 1945 until it stopped production, Mercury formed half of the Lincoln-Mercury Division of Ford. Mercury cars shared many of the same parts and engineering with Ford or Lincoln vehicles (sometimes both) and served as counterparts for cars from both.
In 2010, the division was closed, but Ford still owns the brand.
