Lamborghini may be an Italian car brand, but they’re actually owned by the Volkswagen Group—along with Audi, Volkswagen, Bentley, Porsche, and European car brands such as Cupra, SEAT, and Škoda. The Volkswagen group is one of the largest auto manufacturing organizations in the world and is ranked #8 on the 2022 Fortune Global 500 list.
But while the Volkswagen Group sells more than 10 million cars annually, Lamborghini only sells about 1,000 of their super-fast sports cars in the U.S. each year. It’s no wonder you didn’t know they were sold in the states, especially when you compare that number with more popular (and more affordable) car brands like Toyota, which sells more than a million cars in the United States every year!
