Where is the Toyota Prius made?
Is the Toyota Prius made in North America, or is it shipped in from another country? I’m curious because using fossil fuels to ship an electric car overseas feels a little ironic. Where is the Toyota Prius manufactured?

As of 2022, the Toyota Prius is exclusively made at the Aichi factories in the Aichi prefecture in Japan. This means that the vehicle does have to be shipped overseas in order to reach an American audience.
While this might feel a bit frustrating as a consumer attempting to lower their carbon footprint, remember that many gas-powered vehicles are shipped in from overseas, too. As such, you’ll still be making more of an impact than someone who drives, say, the Jeep Renegade. Remember, you can only do what you can do!
