So I’m confused: is the Solterra made at a Subaru plant or a Toyota factory? I’ve read both stories online, and I’m not sure which one is true. Where is the Subaru Solterra going to be manufactured?

Your confusion is understandable! Thanks to a joint production agreement, the Subaru Solterra is slated to be made at Toyota’s Motomachi plant in Japan. However, semiconductor shortages have led to delays in production and cuts at the plant.
Subaru has plans to build an assembly facility dedicated to electric vehicle (EV) production, but it won’t be active until 2027. Until then, the Solterra will continue to be made at Toyota’s factory.
