The spare tire on a Dodge Caravan is underneath your van. Where exactly it’s located in the undercarriage depends on the type of Caravan you have.
If your Caravan has Stow ‘N Go seating, your spare tire will be between the driver and passenger seats. You’ll need to lower it to the ground using the tire change tool found in the left wall panel in the rear cargo area.
Bring the tool to the front seat. When in the front seat, pull the rear drawer of the center console out as far as it will go, then open the front-most compartment drawer. Remove the rubber lining to reveal the spare tire winch.
If your Caravan does not have Stow ‘N Go seating, your spare tire will be located in the undercarriage at the back, under the rear cargo area. The winch will be located under the floor covering in the rear cargo area, too.
Once you’ve found the winch, follow these steps to remove the spare tire from its holding place:
Lower the spare tire: Use the tire change tool to turn the winch.
Retrieve the tire: Use the tire change tool to pull the spare out from under your Dodge Caravan.
Remove the tire from the storage container: Remove the tire from the donut-shaped container that it sits in by folding down the spring-loaded edges of the T-mechanism in the center of the tire and pushing the mechanism through.
Replace the storage container: Once you’ve fully retrieved the spare tire, you can do the above process in reverse to replace the storage container in your van’s undercarriage.
