The Mercedes F1 team is based in Brackley, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom—about 70 miles northwest of London.
With over 645,000 square feet of space, this site houses state-of-the-art technology for the team to design, develop, manufacture, assemble, and operate Formula One cars.
The facilities include:
- A wind tunnel, dynos, and driver-in-loop simulator
- Leading technology campus with resources for race car development
- Mercedes-AMG F1 Applies Science
The Brackley side is ISO 14001 certified and uses 100% renewable energy sources for their daily operation. It was also awarded the Three Star Certification in 2020 thanks to the team’s continued efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. The current goal is a 20% reduction and to offset inevitable CO2 emissions each year.
Although there aren’t any public tours tof the Mercedes F1 team base, Mercedes does offer opportunities to visit behind the scenes and meet the experts. The only catch is that you’ll have to sign up for their newsletter for future information.
