Don’t feel bad! The Jeep Cherokee’s gas button is sort of hard to find, even for people who drive them regularly.
Depending on your model year, the Jeep Cherokee’s gas button is either below the headlight switch or on the driver’s side door trim.
In the 2014-2018 models, the Jeep Cherokee gas button is usually on the driver’s side door trim. To find it, feel around the front of the molded section just below the window controls. You will feel a small button. Press this and it will release the fuel door.
In the 2019-2021 models, there is no button for the fuel door on the Jeep Cherokee. Once the vehicle is in Park, you can go to the fuel door and simply press and release the center-rear edge.
In some models, there is also an emergency fuel door release in the cargo area. Locate it under the rear right-hand side trim. Pull the release cable to open the fuel door.
Don’t let your tank become empty
