Where is the gas button on a Ford Explorer?
I just bought a used Ford Explorer and it’s time for a first fill-up. I’m confused though because I don’t see anything in the cabin to open the gas tank door. Where’s the gas button on a Ford Explorer?

Congratulations on your new-to-you car! The gas button on a Ford Explorer can be found in one of two places depending on the model year:
- 2015 or older Ford Explorers: The gas button is actually a gas latch on the floor of the driver’s seat.
- 2016 to present Ford Explorers: The gas button is built into the gas tank door and can be opened just by pushing into the left-hand side.
