It’s great that you’re checking the facts! The Ford plant in Illinois, known as the Chicago Assembly, is located at 12600 S. Torrance Avenue in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago. Built in 1924, it’s the oldest continuously running car manufacturing plant in North America**.

But with a recent upgrade of over $1 billion in 2019 and 4,100 workers, it’s one of the main manufacturing plants for the Detroit-based company.
