Where is the 2018 Toyota Camry’s OBD port located?

My 2018 Toyota Camry’s “Check Engine” light came on a couple of days ago—I bought an OBDII scanner to check the problem, but I’m unsure where to plug it in. Where is the 2018 Toyota Camry’s OBD port located?

The 2018
Toyota Camry’s
onboard diagnostics (OBD) port is located underneath the dashboard on the driver’s side and directly above the accelerator and brake pedals. There may or may not be a safety plug plugged into it to prevent dust and other particulates from accumulating inside the port.
Once you’ve located the OBD port, plug the OBD scanner’s connector cable into it. Typically, you’ll want to ensure your Camry is in the “ON” position without actually switching the engine on, but some scanners require you to have the vehicle in “Idle” while using the tool. For this reason, it’s always a good idea to check and double-check the instructions that come with your scanner.
After a few seconds, you should receive a list of all “active” and “pending” error codes, all of which begin with a letter followed by four numbers—here’s how to read them:
  • P (Powertrain): indicates an issue with the engine, emissions system, transmission, fuel system, or ignition.
  • B (Body): indicates an issue with the power steering, seat belts, or airbags.
  • C (Chassis): indicates an issue with the brake fluid, anti-lock brake system, or axles.
  • U (Undefined): if an issue doesn’t fall into these three categories, it will appear “undefined.”
The numbers, on the other hand, can be read as follows:
  • 1st digit: tells you if the error code is generic (0) or manufacturer-specific (1)
  • 2nd digit: refers to a specific part
  • Last two digits: tell you what the actual problem is
