The 2012 GMC Terrain battery is located underneath the hood, but it’s hidden beneath the engine control module (ECM).
You’ll find it on the right-hand (driver’s) side of the vehicle on the end closer to your headlights.
Accessing the battery will involve removing the bolts and clips that hold the ECM component in place.
