Where is the 2003 Hyundai Sonata OBD port location?
I just bought a used Hyundai Sonata a couple of weeks ago, and the Check Engine light has already turned on. I don’t know much about cars, but I was told to scan the system for issues. Where is the 2003 Hyundai Sonata OBD port location?

, the OBD port is located on the driver’s side under the dashboard near the steering column. Since you have a 2003 model year, you’ll have an OBD-II port as all cars and light-duty trucks manufactured after 1996 come standard with this particular port as required by federal law. Since you don’t know much about cars, we’ll give you a quick rundown. OBD stands for On-Board Diagnostics which is an onboard computer system that regulates your Sonata’s performance and monitors all important data, from emission levels to crucial engine components. It will also trigger your Check Engine light (along with other dashboard warning lights) if the OBD system detects an issue with your vehicle—as it has in your case.
You’ll need an OBD-II scanner to check your car’s OBD codes. All you have to do is insert the scanner into the 16-pin connector to uncover any potential issues.
