What a great research project! Chevrolet is originally from Detroit, Michigan, having been founded in 1911 by Swiss immigrant Louis Chevrolet. Today, the headquarters of Chevrolet remains in the city, although vehicle manufacturing has been spread out across the country.
Currently, Chevrolet has assembly plants in the following places:
- Arlington, Texas
- Bowling Green, Kentucky
- Hamtramck, Michigan
- Kansas City, Kansas
- Flint, Michigan
- Lansing, Michigan
- Orion Township, Michigan
- Spring Hill, Tennessee
- Wentzville, Missouri
In addition to these assembly plants, Chevrolet also has several fabrication plants that produce sheet metal, engines, and the other components necessary to assemble its vehicles. The company also has sizable operations overseas, including facilities in:
