Oh no! A 2009 MINI Cooper’s battery location is under the hood on the passenger side, close to where the engine meets the front windshield. To jumpstart, you must first remove the plastic panel covering the battery.
But, if you’re brand new to the world of MINIs, let’s backtrack a little. Here are some more detailed instructions on how to locate the battery for a jumpstart:
Pull the level near the footrest to unlatch the hood
Look for the hood safety lever on the driver’s side of the vehicle and push it upwards. This should
Look on the passenger side of the engine, closer to the front windshield (as opposed to the front bumper)
Remove the black plastic cover that houses the battery
