Where did the name Subaru come from?

I heard that some Asian car brands aren’t simply named after their founders, their names are more metaphorical or named for symbolic elements of Eastern culture. Can you tell me where the name Subaru comes from?

You’re right, certain Asian car makes have more poetic names than others. The name Subaru comes from a Japanese word that means unite or gather together.
Its logo, a cluster of stars, is called Subaru in Japanese and symbolizes part of the Taurus Constellation. The star cluster is more often referred to by its Greek name, Pleiades.
Subaru was the first auto brand to use a Japanese word as its name. It certainly does have a softer ring to it than Subaru’s original company name: Fuji Heavy Industries.
The largest star in Subaru’s logo is meant to signify the car brand’s place of origin—Fuji Heavy Industries.
You’ll be happy to know that certain Subaru models are among the cheapest for
car insurance
—but you should still make sure you’re getting the best possible deal on your
