I’m in the market for a new truck, and I love everything about the F-150 King Ranch. And while I get the idea that the King Ranch sounds rugged, it is a bit odd when I think about it. Where did Ford get the idea for the King Ranch trim name?

Ford got the name King Ranch from the King Ranch in Kingsville, Texas. Located about 40 miles north of Corpus Christi and founded in 1853, this ranch is classically Texan—it’s one of the world’s largest.
The land is tough and rugged—just like the F-150 King Ranch. And the ranch itself is known as the breeding ground of Assault, one of only a handful of Triple Crown-winning horses. At 825,000 acres, King Ranch is roughly the size of Rhode Island, making it the largest cattle ranch in the U.S.
