Did Elon Musk start Tesla in the United States, and if so where? I’m curious because I’ve never seen a Tesla dealership or a Tesla factory, so I’m not sure where all of them are.

Your curiosity is warranted! The Tesla company was started in ** San Carlos, California** in 2003—however, it wasn’t founded by Elon Musk! Instead, American entrepreneurs Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning started the Tesla company.
In February of 2004, Musk became the largest shareholder of the Tesla company by investing $6.5 million. Later, in 2008, he took over the role of CEO after a private power struggle with the sitting CEO, Eberhard. Musk has held the position of CEO of Tesla ever since.
Musk has since worked to expand the company to offer vehicles of the highest level of luxury while still maintaining requirements for speed and power. This combined with the relative rarity of Teslas makes them highly-coveted vehicles.
