Where can Tesla sell cars?
Well, this is annoying. I’m finally in a financial position to buy the Tesla of my dreams, but I just found out that I can’t actually buy one here in Texas—down the street from the plant where they’re built! If they can’t sell cars where they build them, where can Tesla sell cars?

The world of direct-to-consumer sales can be a bit convoluted, especially in states like
Texas
that don’t allow cars to be sold directly to the consumer. Tesla can sell cars in any state that allows direct-to-consumer sales or makes an exemption for Tesla. Currently, that’s 30 states.
If you live in one of the 20 states, like Texas, that doesn’t allow these types of sales, you’ll have to cross state lines to get your Tesla or buy it online and have it delivered to a Tesla store near you.
