Where are Volkswagen Beetles made?
I’ve always wanted to own a Volkswagen Beetle, but I’ve never had enough for a down payment until now. But my husband is a proud union member, and he only wants me to buy cars that were built or assembled in the United States. Where does Volkswagen build the Beetle?

The Volkswagen Beetle was discontinued in 2019, so it’s technically not made anywhere anymore. However, the Beetle was produced in numerous places across its lifetime across Asia, North America, and Europe. When VW decided to nix the Beetle, the last one rolled off the assembly line in Puebla, Mexico.
Interestingly enough, the Beetle was never produced in the United States, although it became exceedingly popular in the 1960s and 1970s, and again in the 2000s with the revived version of the model**.
