Where are Polestar cars made?
I know that Polestar was established by Volvo in Sweden, and as far as I know, the company is still headquartered there. But Polestar doesn’t manufacture vehicles in Sweden, correct? Where are Polestar cars made?

That’s correct! Polestar cars are made in China, not Sweden. And more recently, they are also manufactured in
South Carolina
.In 2017, Volvo Cars and Geely Holding announced that Polestar would become its own brand, focusing on electric vehicles. So far, the two production cars Polestar has introduced have been manufactured in China:
- Polestar 1 - Polestar Production Centre in Chengdu, China
- Polestar 2 - Volvo Cars Plant in Taizhou, China
The upcoming Polestar 3 electric SUV, however, will be manufactured at Volvo’s U.S. plant in
Ridgeville, South Carolina
