Where are Audi SUVs made?
My friend Virgil is visiting from Germany, and he likes to brag about German superiority (“Vee call it football, not sock-ur”, “Our bratwurst are fah superior to hot dogs”, “it’s pronounced yah not yes”, etc.). He also made what the outlandish claim that Audi SUVs are actually produced all over the world. I called his bluff and told him he’s talking nonsense. So, Jerry, where are Audi SUVs made?

Audi
SUVs that are sold in the U.S. are produced all over the world, including at plants in Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, and Mexico**.Here’s a rundown of where each Audi SUV is produced:
- Audi e-tron/e-tron Sportback: both versions of Audi’s sleek, super-quiet, and luxurious electric e-tron SUV, the e-tron and the e-tron Sportback are produced at Audi’s Brussels, Belgium plant, which has been in operation since 1949. The Brussels plant produces about 42,000 of the electric vehicles per year.
- Audi Q3: The slimQ3SUV, with its refined road manners and loads of technology is built at Audi’s plant in Györ, Hungary. The Györ built more than 1.9 million Audi engines in 2019.
- Audi Q4 e-tron/e-tron Sportback: The Q4 e-tron is Audi’s electric SUV for the masses, and looks just as fetching as the e-tron, but without the range to match. The Q4 is built at Audi’s plant in Zwickau, Germany, a facility that only produces electric Q4s and is now a net-neutral carbon plant.
- Audi Q5/Sportback: All of Audi’sQ5SUVs that are sold in the U.S. are built at Audi’s San Jose Chiapa facility near Puebla, Mexico. The Puebla-area plant has been producing the Q5 since 2016, building more than 700,000 Q5s in that time.
- Audi Q7: The family SUV for the sporty types, the AudiQ7, is built at theVolkswagenSlovakia plant (VW owns Audi) in Bratislava, Slovakia. The Q7 has been produced at the Slovakia plant since 2006.
- Audi Q8: A smid-size version of the Q7, theQ8still offers a ton of interior space with the allure of a crossover. The Q8 is also built at the VW Slovakia plant in Bratislava.
