When you're driving, should you look down the road?

I’m not really sure where I should be looking when I’m driving. Should I look down the road, or is it better to keep my eyes close to the front of my car? I want to make sure that I’m doing everything right for my test next week.

It’s great that you’re preparing for your test in advance! When you’re driving, you should always look down the road about 10 to 15 seconds ahead of your car. This gives you time to see and react to any
hazards
in your path so that you can avoid hitting them.
In terms of distance, 10 to 15 seconds translates to about one and a half blocks when driving in the city, and about a quarter-mile when driving on the highway.
PRO TIP: Make sure that, when you look ahead, your eyes are constantly moving rather than fixed on one point! This gives you a clearer picture of the road ahead.
