When did the first Dodge Durango come out?

Your friend might know what they’re talking about! The first Dodge Durango came out in 1998, and it was well-reviewed and well-received. Beware of the 1999 model year, however. This one had issues with occasional stalling, air conditioning odors, and a cam sensor issue that could cause the car’s ignition to not start.
The 1998 Dodge Durango SLT, which was the base level trim, included:
- Keyless entry
- Power doors
- Power locks
- Power windows
- 15-inch alloy wheels
- AM/FM stereo with cassette player
- V6 engine with an available V8
