When did Ford buy Mazda?

I read that Ford and Mazda used to have a mutual partnership, which you can see in many of the cars they produced in the 1990s and 2000s. I assume that Ford bought all or part of Mazda, but I’m not sure. When was Mazda purchased by Ford?

Seeing the advantages of a strategic partnership between the companies, Ford bought a 25% stake in
Mazda
in 1979, upped it to 33.4% by 1995, but slowly divested and sold all of its shares in the Japanese automaker by 2015. However, Ford never actually owned Mazda or controlled a majority stake at any time.
The reason behind Ford’s purchase primarily rested on Ford’s slumping sales and Mazda’s new technology for parts and reliability in 1979. By 1995, however, Ford bought a larger share of Mazda to keep it out of bankruptcy, as Mazda slumped in both domestic and foreign markets. Finally, in 2015, the 35-year relationship had finally run its course, and Ford sold its remaining shares in the company.
