The purchase was half business savviness by Chrysler owner Walter Percy Chrysler and half tragedy. Both of the Dodge brothers—who were the original founders of the company—passed away within months of each other, leaving the future of the company in limbo.
With the purchase, both the Dodge and Chrysler names have lived on and remain one of the most well-known automotive companies in the world—even nearly 100 years removed from the acquisition.
Today, Dodge’s headquarters can be found in
Auburn Hills
, Michigan, just 30 minutes away from the original Dodge Brothers Company that used to be in Detroit
