I love driving a car with an electric sunroof, but I remember when I was a kid, we used to drive a car with a manual sunroof you had to crank. When did cars first get electric sunroofs?

The Golde family of Germany supposedly invented a sliding panel sunroof in 1927 that came with a cable drive mechanism that could be operated by either a hand crank or an electric motor.
