I’m heading from Dallas to Las Vegas for my best friend’s bachelor party and planning to drive there. I have some time to kill and would love to check out some sights. What’s the best route there?

A bachelor party in Vegas is a class, and you’ll have a great time! The best route from Dallas to Las Vegas is via US-287 N and I-40 W, covering 1,222 miles through the southwest over roughly 18 hours and 15 minutes with good traffic.
Here’s the route to follow:
- Head to I-35 E and follow signs for I-35E N/Denton
- Continue on I-35E N
- Continue on TX-183 W, follow signs for Texas 183/Texas 114
- Continue on Texas 121 TEXpress/Texas 183 TEXpress, follow signs for TX- 183/DFW Airport
- Take the I-35W N exit toward Denton
- Exit onto US-287 N/US-81 N/Hwy 287 N
- Exit onto US-287 N/US-81 N/Hwy 287 N
- Merge onto US-287 N/US-81 N/Hwy 287 N
- Continue onto I-44 E/US-287 N
- Merge onto I-40 W to enter New Mexico
- Take exit 48 to merge onto US-93 N/W Beale St toward AZ-68 W/Las Vegas
- Continue onto I-11/US-93 N to enter Nevada
- Continue onto I-515 N
- Take exit 75 for Las Vegas Blvd toward Downtown Las Vegas
