I’m heading to Cody, WY to visit some friends over the weekend. What’s the best route to get there from Buffalo, WY?

- Take US-16 west out of Buffalo. The highway will take a pretty big dip south to skirt Loaf Mountain and Bighorn Peak (but trust us, you’re headed the right way!)
- When you get to Ten Sheep (yes, we’re serious), hop on WY-31
- When you get to Manderson, head north on WY-789 / US-20 W until you reach Basin
- Turn west (left) on WY-30 and follow it to US-14/20 W, which will take you into Cody
This route may sound a bit convoluted, but it’s the most direct, and at just over three hours, it’s also the fastest.
