to Las Vegas is via I-40 W. The trip will require about 19 hours of driving—you should only drive a max of 8 or 9 hours a day, so if you’re driving alone, you’ll need to spend at least two nights on the road along the way.If you’ll have someone with you, you may be able to make the trip with one overnight stop. Two possible stopping points at about the halfway mark are Roswell, New Mexico, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Roswell is about eight hours away from Austin, while Albuquerque is a little over 10 hours away from Austin.
