My wife loves the tackiest tourist traps and attractions, so we’re going to Gatlinburg. I just need to know how to get there. What’s the best driving route from Atlanta to Gatlinburg?

There’s nothing wrong with having a spouse who likes to experience a little something out of the ordinary! The good news is that the trip is only 200 miles through
and takes about 4 hours, so you can definitely make a great weekend trip out of it! Here’s the best route from Atlanta to Gatlinburg:
Take I-85 North out of Atlanta.
Take the exit for I-985.
Stay on I-985 until it becomes US-23 and continue on it.
Take US-23 until it dead-ends into US-74 and make a left.
Take exit 74 for US-441 and follow it all the way into Gatlinburg. Take care over the last 30 miles or so of this stretch, as it can get windy as the road cuts through the mountains.
