I’m going to visit family in Boston this summer, but I’m scared of flying. If I don’t mind doing an overnight or two, what’s the best driving route from Denver to Boston?

If you’ll be traveling with someone, you can do the trip over two days by stopping overnight around Chicago—but you’ll need to split around 15 hours of driving time each day. If you’re traveling alone, it’s much safer to do the trip over three or four days if you want to avoid dangerous conditions like drowsy or

. Here’s the route we suggest:- Take I-25 N to exit 216 A towards I-76 E
- Follow the signs to merge onto I-80 E
- Take I-80 E to exit 16, where you can merge onto I-90 E
- Follow the signs to get on the NY State Thruway/I-87 S
- Use exit 21A to get on the Massachusetts Turnpike
- At exit 134A, follow the signs to South Station in downtown Boston
