The very first car I can remember growing up is the Chevy Astro. My parents had one and I always thought it looked cool. Anyway, I’m looking for an old beater van to do some moonlighting as a repairman, but I don’t want to pay too much. What year did the first Chevrolet Astro come out?

The first Chevy Astro debuted in 1985 and stayed a part of the Chevy family until it was discontinued in 2005.The original Chevy Astro’s style was its main feature, as it parted from the look of some of the other minivans of the time. It also featured a 165-hp, 4.3-liter V-6, room for seven passengers, and up to 189.9 cubic feet of cargo space. For families and workers, it was a great option. Today, you can buy one for about $1,000, although many of the older models suffer from rust damage.
