was actually made much earlier than most people think. The 1941 model-year Packard 180 was the first-ever car to use hydraulics controlled by electric switches to power the windows. These were developed from the same technology that was employed to create power-folding tops on convertibles and power seats that would go into luxury cars in the post-war years.
By the 1950s, even mass-market cars like the Chrysler Imperial came equipped with electric power windows.
