What was Honda’s first electric car?

I love my Honda Accord hybrid, and I was wondering how long the company has been using EV technology and making electric cars. What was Honda’s first electric car?

The first electric car from
Honda
was the Honda EV Plus, which was produced from 1997 to 1999. It was the first battery electric vehicle from a major automaker that didn’t use lead acid batteries, but only about 340 models of this short-lived EV were ever released.
Shortly after the EV Plus was shelved, Honda decided to pivot to hybrid battery technology, like the Accord that you drive today, and released the Honda Insight.
Currently, Honda doesn’t currently offer any fully electric vehicles in the United States. The company is set to release an electric SUV called the Honda Prologue sometime in 2024.
