What Type of Oil Does a 2013 Nissan Sentra Use?

Congratulations on the new (to you) car, and nice work on tackling the maintenance first thing. Your 2013 Nissan Sentra will need an oil change every 3,000 to 5,000 miles if you use conventional oil, or every 7,500 to 10,000 miles if you use synthetic.
Here are Nissan’s engine oil recommendations for the 2013 Altima:
- Use SAE 0W-20 engine oil
- Make sure the oil has an American Petroleum Institute (API) certification mark
- Do not use any oil additives
- Replace the filter with a Nissan brand oil filter to maintain the correct oil change interval schedule
