Congrats on your new purchase! The type of engine your Wrangler has will determine what type of gas it needs.

If your

Wrangler is on the older side and has a 3.6 L, 6-cylinder engine, you’ll only need regular gasoline or petrol. However, if you drive a model with a 2.0 L, turbocharged inline 4-cylinder, you’ll need to fill your car with premium gasoline.

Jeep recommends using 87-Octane regular unleaded gasoline on its newer Wranglers. If you have 91 or 93-Octane fuel, you can use those as well. Refer to your owner’s manual to verify what gas your Jeep Wrangler takes.
