That said, no set speed is considered reckless driving in North Dakota. A reckless driving charge is entirely up to the judgment of the police officer who pulls you over.
More specifically, North Dakota law states that reckless driving is disregard for the safety of others in a reckless manner, with speed or other breaches of duty of care likely to cause harm or endanger the safety of other persons or property.
Reckless driving in North Dakota is a Class B misdemeanor that stays on your permanent record and has the following penalties:
- Eight points on your license
- Possible suspension of your license
- Up to 30 days in jail
- Up to $1,000 in fines
