In most cases, you can talk with a driving instructor about anything, so long as you aren’t distracted by the conversation. But if you want to get the most out of your lessons, you may want to ask questions about driving.
Great driving instructors are vocal during the lessons as they instruct you, but if you have specific questions, speak up. This is the time when you get to hone your driving skills, so there are no dumb questions.
Aside from that, small talk always works. The more comfortable you feel with your instructor, the better you’ll perform behind the wheel—and the better you’ll retain information.
