What should you do if your windshield cracks while driving?

I saw a video of someone’s windshield cracking after hitting a rock while they were driving. So scary! I don’t know how I would react in that situation, and I think I would feel safer if I did. What are you supposed to do if a rock cracks your windshield?

It’s always a good idea to be prepared! If your
windshield
cracks while driving, the best thing to do is to carefully steer your car to the side of the road.
A cracked windshield can limit your visibility, which is inherently dangerous. You’ll be able to better assess the degree of damage once you stop moving. If it isn’t bad, you can drive your car to an auto glass repair shop.
If the damage is really bad, turn on your hazards and call a tow truck. If you have a roadside assistance package through your car insurance, this would be the time to use it!
Make room in your budget for unexpected car repairs by saving money on other car expenses—like insurance. The
Jerry
app can help.
