It’s good you’re checking before going out on the roads. The best thing you can do if there’s flooding in your area is to stay where you are if you are in a safe location.
If you’re caught in a flash flood while driving, however, keep these suggestions in mind:
Do not try to drive through a flooded roadway or over a water-covered bridge
Always take the highest, clear route that you can to avoid flooded areas
If your vehicle is completely surrounded by water, get out of your car and move to higher ground
Do everything you can to avoid walking in floodwaters
