What should I do if an alligator is crossing the road?
I’m planning on going down to the Everglades as part of my attempt to see every national park in America. Since I’ve never seen an alligator in the wild before, I’m a bit worried about what to do if I come across one while I’m driving. What do I do if I see an alligator crossing the road?

! But if you see an alligator crossing the road, don’t panic. Follow these steps instead:- Slow down as you approach the alligator. Most of the time, it won’t pay any attention to you and will carry on its way.
- If it stops in front of you, try your best to go around it. Just make sure to yield to traffic coming from the other direction.
- After you go past the alligator, contact animal control or the Everglades information line at 305-242-7700.
