The type of oil you use in your vehicle absolutely matters. It’s important to use oil that’s the right thickness, or viscosity, for your car’s engine. Oil that’s too thick or thin won’t provide the necessary protection for your engine, which can result in costly damage. For a 2015

Camry, use SAE 0W-20 full synthetic oil. SAE stands for “Society of Automotive Engineers,” the society responsible for establishing a classification system based solely on oil viscosity.
The first number (in this case, 0) which precedes the W refers to the oil’s low-temperature viscosity. The second number (in this case, 20) refers to the oil’s high-temperature viscosity.
On a final note: Synthetic oil is by far better for performance than conventional oil. It protects the engine due to lower levels of friction. Additives also help clean the engine of deposits, which means it will burn cleaner and thicken far more slowly.
