We bought a new Cadillac CTS back in 2009. Up until now, we’ve had no major issues with it. But it’s started making a ticking noise. What could be causing a ticking noise in a 2009 Cadillac CTS?

A sudden ticking noise from your car can be a little alarming, but it could have a very simple cause that’s easy to fix. A ticking noise in a 2009
Cadillac CTS
is often due to low engine oil level, low oil pressure, or an exhaust leak. Another likely cause could be an ignition problem.There may indeed be other causes behind the ticking sound you hear, but it’s a good idea to rule out the easy stuff first. Check your engine oil and see if you need to add any or if the oil looks like it’s due for a change.
If that’s not the problem, check to see if you can locate an exhaust leak. If you can’t find one—or if you’ve looked around and you’re still unsure exactly what’s causing the problem—it’s probably time to take your Cadillac to a professional mechanic.
Remember, having a problem checked out early can sometimes prevent more costly repairs further down the line.
