My friends and I are going to be doing a car wash to raise some money for our college sport’s team, but we’re not sure which type of soap to use. We have a lot of glass cleaner on hand, but we don’t want to ruin the cars’ paint accidentally. What kind of soap is best for washing a car?

What a great way to raise money! Car washing is simple, helps others, and can even be therapeutic for some. However, it’s important to use the right cleaning agents to avoid any unhappy customers.
The best kind of soaps to use are dedicated car-wash products. These milder types of soaps are specifically created to ensure paint and protective wax won’t be stripped off from cars. To use, simply apply the suds with a large, soft sponge or lamb’s wool mitt.
Do not use any household cleaning products, including dishwasher detergent, glass cleaner, or hand soap. These agents will remove the protective wax and may ruin a car’s paint job. Furthermore, these products tend to be more expensive than their car-washing specific counterparts.
