What kind of oil does a Hyundai Elantra take?

My buddy offered to help me change the oil in my Hyundai Elantra. He is pretty good with cars, but he says it doesn’t really matter which oil I put in. Is this true? What kind of oil does a Hyundai Elantra take?

You were right to doubt your friend on this one.
The
Hyundai Elantra
can use either 5W-20 or 5W-30 motor oil. The oil you choose can be synthetic or conventional.
Cars are made to be used with oils that have a specific density and viscosity at various temperatures. The wrong oil will create more wear on your moving parts and harm your engine’s performance.
