Your Suburban should take about six quarts of SAE 5W-30 motor oil.
Changing the oil on your own should cost you less than $40 and take less than 30 minutes. Once you’re done with the oil change, it’s good to let the engine run for a few minutes and then check the oil level. Make sure the oil reaches the crosshatched area when you pull out the dipstick.
