What kind of headlights are on a 2016 Silverado 1500?

I hit a deer in my Chevy Silverado 1500 and my headlight is smashed. I’d like to save money by doing this repair at home, but I’m not sure what exactly I need. What type of headlights does a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 use?

Drat! Hitting a deer is scary and no fun. Glad you’re okay!
2016
Silverado 1500
headlights depend on the
trim level
of the truck, but the main standard options are the OEM HID headlights and the OEM LED headlights.
The 2016 Silverado 1500 OEM HID headlights come stock from the factory. HID stands for high-intensity discharge and means your headlights are brighter than standard halogen bulbs.
The other option is the LED version. These are just as bright or even brighter than the HID headlights. The main difference is the durability. LED headlights last much longer than HID headlights—up to 20,000 hours versus the HID’s 5,000.
Whichever you have, the assemblies are likely the same. You can replace your 2016 Silverado 1500 headlights with either, or you can install a totally different aftermarket headlight assembly for a brand new look.
