What is the warranty on a new Volkswagen?

I have an older Volkswagen that I’m looking to trade in for a 2022 model. Is the factory warranty any different than it was before?

Yes! In fact,
Volkswagen
just readjusted their factory warranty in 2020. Thus, the warranty on every new 2022 VW vehicle includes 4 years or 50,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper repair coverage. Bumper-to-bumper coverage includes basic coverage, as well as a powertrain warranty.
This replaces the 2018 and 2019 factory warranties, which included 6 years or 72,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper full mechanical and electrical breakdown protection.
If you’d like more coverage than what’s offered by the manufacturer, you can purchase one of the following extended warranty options:
  • Platinum
  • Gold
  • Powertrain
Each includes 10 years/150,000 miles of coverage, but the plans vary in terms of deductibles, parts covered, and—of course—price.
